Educator Professional Development
Change is Simple professional development courses prepares educators to infuse climate education into every aspect of a student’s day to empower the next generation of environmental stewards. Courses are led by our team to share climate education best practices that will leave your students feeling empowered to make a difference in their world.
Professional development courses are grounded in environmental literacy and aligned with Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core designed to enhance math, ELA, and science comprehension. Research-based pedagogical approaches to make student learning real and relevant for today’s changing world.
2026 Courses
Teacher and Public Outreach Training in Salem
Join the New England Water Environment Association this August at the South Essex Sewerage District in Salem for a K-12 teacher training. 𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗗 to the first 50 registrants! A certificate of attendance will be handed out at the end of the event, and Professional Development points will be provided! You will participate in a treatment plant tour and activities; learn about NEWEA classroom presentations; engage in a hands-on Earth Echo Water Challenge workshop that you can repeat with your own students; and discover practical approaches, lesson ideas, and tools that help educators bring climate and water topics into their classrooms in engaging and accessible ways!

Crash Course in Impactful Climate Education (Virtual)

Details: This 4 week long online course will teach you about climate topics relevant to your students. Learn how to facilitate fun activities, and integrate climate education across subjects for maximum accessibility to climate education in a memorable, hopeful, and engaging way. Once you learn the basics, we tie it all together by giving you the opportunity to plan how and when to use these activities during the school year.
