During our event, we heard from special guest and Change is Simple alumnus, Will. Because of his experiences with Change is Simple as an elementary student, Will decided to pursue a career in environmental policy and advocacy. Last month, he graduated from Connecticut College with a Dual-Degree in Government and Psychology and was recently accepted into Northeastern’s Master of Science in Applied Quantitative Methods and Social Analysis program. Thank you Will for sharing your story of the long-term impact of our programming!

I remember the days like it was yesterday, walking to Cove Elementary with my dad every morning. Some days, I would wait until the last second to see if I could escape going, but

Change is Simple Days were the days I ran. Those were the days that got my friends and me excited to go to school.

At the time, I didn’t realize how much it would stay with me, but over the years, it became clearer.

Change is Simple lessons are memories that my friends and I will share forever.

Going out to the side of the school and going over water systems and energy sources, Patrick pulling out the water bottle snake, and matching cards of animals and resources are just a few of the memories that we have discussed consistently across the years.

Because of those experiences, I decided to pursue a career in environmental policy and advocacy.
